ChurchesThe hard-working pioneers who settled this region in the late 1800s had many things that bound them together. Chief among these was a deep and profound faith rooted in the Mormon Church. Today, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints continues to be the tie that binds many of our communities together. In addition to the LDS Church, we have many other religious groups and churches in our region.

Family and Community Support Services (FCSS)Cardston County has two Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) offices providing services for our residents: the Cardston & District FCSS and the Magrath & District FCSS.
FCSS is a unique 80/20 funding partnership between the Government of Alberta and participating municipalities or Métis Settlements. Provincially, the FCSS Program receives its mandate from the Family and Community Support Services Act and Regulation.
The FCSS philosophy is based on a belief that self-help contributes to a sense of integrity, self-worth and independence. Programs developed are intended to help individuals in their community to adopt healthy lifestyles, thereby improving the quality of life and building the capacity to prevent and/or deal with crisis situations should they arise.
